This series includes pop tunes you know, classical music you think you know and some theatre and film hits you will get to know: an expertly arranged, nicely varied collection of musical styles all under one cover.

... Can You Feel the Love Tonight • Tournament Galop - Gottschalk • Remembrances • Out Of Africa • Dances With Wolves • Norwegian Dance No. 2 - Grieg • Murder on the Orient Express • Cortège from Caucasian Sketches - Ippolitov-Ivanov

"...Some of the music in Alan Gout's Undercover Hits is taken from films, while the remainder is drawn from hits of another kind. The keys have been well chosen for the trumpet, and the piano accompaniment is complementary and well written. The selection of music is intriguingly random, and I can only assume that the 'undercover' in the title refers to the 'whodunnit' nature of the theme from Murder on the Orient Express. This is a well arranged book that offers excellent concert repertoire for Grade 5 players and above. The pieces are enjoyable to play and offer effective challenges to the developing player. I hope to see some of the pieces on exam syllabuses in future." Reviewed 'Music Teacher'
Alan Gout
Alan Gout read music at Oxford. After a short time at the R.C.M. and a stint as a pub pianist he joined the original D'Oyly Carte opera as a trombonist. This versatility soon led to work in the West-End theatre, arranging and composing at the National Theatre and musical direction for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

He combined musical direction for children's TV programmes with collaborating on music workshops for schools. He has conducted ballet with London City Ballet and English National Ballet, all the while gaining a reputation as an expert arranger and composer of original light music, especially in the educational field.

He teaches at Drama Centre, London and at Dartington International Summer School and is musical Director of the Berkeley Square Society Band.
