"... A thrilling work to play. Full of melodic invention, the technical challenges this piece poses are ultimately satisfying to overcome, as the audience response is invariably overwhelming. The approachable idiom of the piece ensures that. The orchestration, including an innovatory cadenza for four trumpets, is expert and the craft with which the memorable material has been orchestrated will ensure the place of this work in the growing virtuoso repertoire for solo trumpet."
