ROBERT FARLEY
Robert Farley won a scholarship to study at the Royal College of Music. While studying there he won several prizes including the Ernest Hall Memorial Prize. Robert is now a busy freelance trumpeter playing principal with major orchestras including the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, The Philharmonia, The London Sinfonietta, The Orchestra of The Royal Opera House, English National Opera and Stuttgart Baroque Orchestra. He is principal trumpet of the Symphony of Harmony and Invention (Orchestra for the Sixteen) and The Hanover Band and works extensively with Period Instrument Orchestras at home and abroad.

Robert's solo work includes recordings of the Vivaldi Concerto for two trumpets, Queen of the Night aria from the Magic Flute, Handel arias with Emma Kirkby and a recording of Bach's Cantata 51. He has appeared as a soloist on many occasions with the Hanover Band including a critically acclaimed performance of Bach's Brandenburg concerto No. 2 in the proms and Hummel's Trumpet concerto on a copy of Weidinger's keyed trumpet. Robert was soloist on the European Baroque Orchestra's World Tour and has recently performed several recitals with the organist David Titterington. Future engagements include performances at home and abroad of Brandenburg No. 2, Cantata 51 and various recitals.

Robert is professor of trumpet at Trinity College of Music and professor of baroque trumpet and cornett at the Royal Academy of Music. He is also the author of Natural Trumpet Studies published by Brass Wind Publications and Play Latin for Faber Music.

JOHN HUTCHINS
After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music with a first class honours degree John Hutchins began to specialise on the natural trumpet. He has played with some of Europe's finest Baroque ensembles including The Kings Consort, The Sixteen, and The Orchestra of the Age of the Enlightenment, Florilegium and the Hanover Band. John gave the first performance of a Biber Mass since the composer's death with the New York Collegium. He has recorded numerously both home and abroad. John also performs on the modern trumpet with orchestras such as the Philharmonia and the Royal Opera House.

Brass Coaching features highly in John's career encompassing various schools and local Youth Orchestras. The British Council invited John to coach the brass section of the National Symphony Orchestra of Vietnam.
